We’re building the Mordialloc Bypass to cut congestion and create local jobs
The Andrews Labor Government is investing $300 million to build a 9 kilometre arterial road between Springvale Road in Aspendale Gardens, and the Dingley Bypass in Dingley Village. The project will include an overpass over Springvale Road to help cut travel times.
Traffic signals will be installed at other intersections to improve safety and traffic flow and a shared cycling and pedestrian path will be constructed along the full length of the bypass.
This long-overdue road link will be constructed by the Labor Government after the previous Liberal Government failed to get the project done.
We’re also putting local workers first by ensuring tenderers will use local firms, materials, expertise and skills to build this project.
Construction is expected to commence in mid-2019 following further community consultation, environmental, planning approval and tendering processes. The project is expected to be completed in late 2021.
